Reliable Power Switching for Snow Melting Systems.
The EasyHeat® Sno*Melter® PC503F Magnetic Contactor provides dependable electrical switching for larger snow and ice melting installations. Designed to handle heating loads up to 50 amps, it allows a compatible control system to activate electric snow melting cables and mats without carrying the heating load directly.
Ideal for driveways, walkways, entrances, and other outdoor paved areas, the PC503F separates the control circuit from the heating load, providing a practical solution for residential and commercial snow melting systems requiring higher electrical capacity.
Featuring a 120V AC operating coil and a NEMA 1 enclosure, the PC503F is designed for use with compatible 120V control circuits, including the EasyHeat® MSC-1 Multi-Zone Snow Melting Controller.
Best for: Snow melting installations requiring up to 50 amps of switching capacity and direct compatibility with the MSC-1 controller.
Compatibility Note: The PC503F features a 120V AC operating coil, making it compatible with the MSC-1 controller's 120V outputs. It can switch appropriately rated 240V heating loads even though its operating coil uses 120V. For applications requiring a 240V AC operating coil, select the PC503G.

Installing Your EasyHeat® 120V Magnetic Contactor
Reliable Power Control for Your Snow Melting System
EasyHeat® PC-Series magnetic contactors allow your snow melting controller to switch power to heating mats and cables, making them an important part of larger snow melting installations.
The 120V models are designed to operate with a 120V control signal, making them suitable for use with compatible EasyHeat® controls, including the MSC-1.
Choosing the Right Location
Install in a Protected Indoor Area
Each PC-Series contactor comes in a NEMA 1 general-purpose enclosure designed for indoor use.
Choose a dry, accessible location away from excessive moisture, dust, and other unsuitable environmental conditions.
Mount the Contactor Securely
Install the contactor on a vertical surface, following the manufacturer's mounting instructions.
Allow appropriate space for electrical connections, inspection, and future maintenance.
Electrical Connections
Connect the Contactor to Your Controller
The contactor uses a 120V coil that receives a control signal from a compatible snow melting controller.
When the controller calls for heat, the contactor closes its electrical contacts, allowing power to reach the connected heating equipment.
Connect the Heating System
Your electrician will connect the electrical supply and heating loads to the appropriate terminals.
The contactor's line terminals are located at the top, with load terminals at the bottom, helping simplify installation.
Match the Contactor to Your Heating Load
PC-Series contactors are available in several amperage ratings to accommodate different heating system sizes.
Your qualified electrician will determine the appropriate model based on the electrical requirements of your heating equipment, the controller, and applicable electrical codes.
Important Installation Reminder
Always follow the EasyHeat® PC-Series installation instructions supplied with your contactor.
All electrical connections, circuit protection, and system testing must be completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable electrical codes.
