Installation
The EasyHeat® Warm Tiles® FGS Programmable Thermostat provides dependable, straightforward temperature control for electric floor warming systems. Designed for customers who prefer traditional controls, the FGS allows you to establish comfortable floor temperatures and create heating schedules without the need for Wi-Fi connectivity.
Planning Your Installation
Choose a convenient wall location that provides easy access to the thermostat and is suitable for the required electrical connections. The thermostat should be installed in an approved electrical box, following the manufacturer's mounting and wiring instructions.
Before installation, confirm that the thermostat's voltage and electrical capacity are compatible with your floor warming system. The FGS supports 120V and 240V applications, with a maximum switching capacity of 15 amps.
Installing the Floor Sensor
The included floor temperature sensor monitors the temperature of the heated floor and helps the thermostat maintain the selected comfort level.
Position the sensor within the heated floor area, between adjacent heating cable runs, without allowing it to touch or cross the heating cable. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for sensor placement, routing, and protection during installation.
Proper sensor positioning is important for accurate temperature readings and consistent system performance.
Electrical Connections & Safety
The FGS thermostat includes built-in GFCI protection for the floor warming circuit. Electrical connections should be completed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable electrical codes and the manufacturer's wiring instructions.
For installations exceeding the thermostat's switching capacity, an appropriately rated relay and separately protected circuit may be required. Never exceed the thermostat's specified electrical ratings.
Programming & Initial Setup
Once installation is complete and the system is ready for operation, configure the thermostat's temperature settings and preferred heating schedule using its built-in controls.
The FGS offers programmable scheduling options, including 5/2-day and 7-day configurations, allowing you to adjust heating periods around your daily routine.
Unlike the ESW model, the FGS operates independently without Wi-Fi connectivity or an online account.
Follow the flooring and heating system manufacturers' instructions regarding required curing periods before energizing the floor warming system.
